Additional LCP Modular Hospital For Moderate, Severe COVID-19 Cases to Open November 2020

Public Works and Highways Secretary and isolation csar announced that the construction of additional modular hospital inside the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) compound in Quezon City is now being fast-tracked to augment hospital’s bed capacity for moderate to severe cases of COVID-19.

DPWH: Additional LCP Modular HospitalSecretary Villar said that the additional modular hospital being implemented at LCP is aimed for November 2020 completion.

“Our goal to complete a fully-functional hospital facility, capable of accommodating severe cases of the virus, by early November,” Secretary Villar added.

During the inspection held Saturday, October 17, 2020, Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain who heads the DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local and National Health Facilities said that the project covers the construction of eight (8) rooms with two (2) beds each or a total of 16 additional bed capacity.

“The additional 16-bed capacity offsite modular hospital will hopefully bring relief to LCP which is already overwhelmed with moderate to severe COVID-19 cases,” said Undersecretary Sadain.

Also present during the inspection at LCP compound are DPWH Task Force technical working group members namely Bureau of Design Director Aristarco Doroy; Bureau of Construction Director Eric Ayapana and Asst. Director Edgar Garces; and Project Director Virgilio C. Castillo of Unified Project Management Office-Roads Management Cluster 1.
