Additional prov’l bus routes sought

PROVINCIAL bus operators have appealed anew to the Department of Transportation and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (DOTr-LTFRB) for more additional routes.

Engineer Alex Yague, Executive Director of the Provincial Bus Operator Association of the Philippines (PBOAP), said routes remain limited for provincial buses.

Yague said officers and members of the PBOAP are for more routes, particularly for bus trips from Visayas, Mindanao and Metro Manila.

Yague assured all government concerns, especially the Inter-Agency Task Force (AITF), that provincial buses operators and owners will strictly comply with health protocols.

We appeal for the opening of more provincial bus routes and to use our own terminals inside National Capital Region NCR and we will strictly follow the 7 commandments of travel.

The DOTr and LTFRB has approved the operation of motorcycle taxis as well as added more traditional jeepneys and UV Express Van in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
