After PLM, UdM victimized by another fake survey of ‘shameless candidate’

ANOTHER fake news from a shameless candidate using another city-run university.

This was how Manila City Administrator Bernie Ang deplored yet another fake survey that was posted on social media purportedly conducted at the Universidad de Manila (UDM).

“Katatapos lang ng pekeng survey sa city employees at PLM. Ngayon UdM naman. Ano susunod? MPD? Barangays? SK? Mahiya naman kayo,” said Ang, as he laughed off the disparity used, which made the fake survey even more ridiculously impossible and a clear sign of desperation.

The UdM headed by Dr. Felma Carlos-Tria as its President has categorically denied and branded as ‘fake news’ a purported survey floated on social media, favoring a political rival of incumbent Mayor Honey Lacuna.

Tria said the UdM has a non-partisan policy and disallows its students from participating in any surveys, adding that granting there is no such policy, there was no survey conducted ever among the students.

In a statement, the UdM said it is dedicated to being a non-political academic institution that values integrity, academic excellence and the well-being of its community members.

“Recent surveys circulating online that claim to reflect the political views of UdM students are not approved by the university and are not conducted by any recognized student organization. As a non-partisan educational institution, UdM does not permit anyone to carry out political surveys among its community members,” the UdM said.

As of this writing, the UdM Supreme Student Government said it is also coming up with its statement, adding that no one from the UdM was ever asked to participate in any such survey.
