Agri firm loses P.5M insecticides to robbers

SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija — Four unidentified thieves broke into an agricultural feeds center in this town and carted away several boxes of insecticide worth less than half-a-million pesos, it was reported yesterday.

Town police head Major Lawrence D. Lira said robbed was the Awy Agricenter Corporation owned by businesswoman Angelita Wy, 52, of Bgy. Castellano, this town.

Investigation showed the heist was discovered by the owner at 1:30 a.m.

Police said four suspects destroyed the steel grills of the stock room with the use of a vault cutter.

During an inventory, Lira said found missing were 13 boxes of Nominee Insecticide worth P436,800.

He said they are now conducting an ocular inspection of the premises and background interview of the firm’s security personnel to get possible leads in the robbery.
