Agricultural products confiscated at NAIA from foreign passengers

The Bureau of Plant industry (BPI) assigned at the NAIA confiscated agricultural products that some foreign passengers tried to bring into the country from China and Addis Ababa.

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) discovered the said products which are among the items prohibited to be brought into the country due to the possibility that they may bring pests into the country as well.

They are carried by three foreign passengers who flew in via NAIA terminal 1.

The said passengers arrived via China Airlines flight MF-819 and confiscated from them are the following: 2.4 kgs of plums; 1kg of Apples; 3.1 kgs of plums; 1.5 Nectarines and 1.5 kgs plums.

Meanwhile, also confiscated from two passengers that arrived from Addis Ababa were 13kgs of yum; 1.7 kgs of yum; and 0.2 kgs of chilli powder.

The BPI said that the agri products were not covered by necessary permits.
