AirAsia offers tips for hassle-free trip as it gears up for post-holiday passenger surge

Post-holiday passenger surge

To help passengers traveling back after the holidays, AirAsia Philippines offers tips for a hassle-free journey as it announced its preparedness in accommodating the expected surge of passengers returning from their holiday travels.

The airline’s Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer Steve Dailisan said that they remain on high alert and on standby at key airports to ensure a seamless travel experience for all passengers, particularly as we anticipate a peak in passenger numbers starting today.

Dailisan said that from December 16, 2024, to January 6, 2025, AirAsia Philippines served over 400,000 passengers, significantly surpassing its projected count of 300,000 for the period showing that Filipinos are gradually regaining their enthusiasm for travel, adding that a smooth operation was recorded last Christmas and New Year in AirAsia flights, further demonstrating the airline’s commitment to delivering quality and great value service to its guests.

“We expect a continuous increase in passenger traffic at our check-in counters until January 10th, as many of our kababayans have extended their holiday leave to enjoy more time with their loved ones in the provinces. This is why we remain fully prepared and will continue our operational readiness after the holidays and into the upcoming lively fiesta season in key destinations like Kalibo, Cebu, and Bohol.” he said.

“As January marks the beginning of the vibrant fiesta season across the Philippines, AirAsia guests can look forward to affordable and seamless travel to these popular destinations. The recent advisory from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) on fuel surcharges further ensures stability in pricing. Airlines can collect a fuel surcharge ranging from P117 to P342 for domestic flights, depending on distance, and from P385.7 to P2,867.82 for international flights,” he added.

Meantime, the airline issued the following tips for a smooth travel: arrive early–passengers are advised to be at the airport at least 3 hours before their scheduled flight to allow sufficient time for check-in and security procedures; check flight status—stay informed about flight schedules through the AirAsia Move App or at airasia.com; pack smart–familiarize yourself with AirAsia’s baggage policies to avoid delays during check-in; use online check-in–expedite your pre-flight process by checking in online and lastly, stay connected–follow AirAsia Philippines on social media for real-time updates, travel advisories and tips.
