AirAsia Philippines has activated its #AlwaysREADY Ngayong Semana Santa 2025 to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for all guests from April 13 to 20, 2025, in anticipation of over 100,000 travelers this Holy Week.

Simultaneously, the airline introduced a new power bank policy to comply with AirAsia Aviation Group’s recently-released guidelines, pending review and approval of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippine.

AirAsia chief executive officer Ricky Isla and spokesperson Steve Dailisan also led an inspection at the airline’s check-in counters to assess preparations for the anticipated surge in passengers, along with Transportation Security Administrator Undersecretary Arthur Bisnar.

As part of the initiative, the team also distributed Santan Summer drinks to departing guests at NAIA Terminal 3.

“It’s become a tradition for us, here at AirAsia, to provide additional support during peak travel times, especially when families, friends reunite and observe religious tradition. While we know the importance of staying connected during this time, we are also raising awareness amongst guests on the need for vigilance in proper handling and storage of power banks during their travels,” said Dailisan, who is also the airline’s Communications and Public Affairs Head.

Meanwhile, AirAsia reminds guests that only power banks not exceeding 100 watt-hours (Wh) are allowed onboard.

Devices rated between 100Wh and 160Wh require airline approval at the check-in counter. AirAsia power bank safety rules can be accessed through official AirAsia social media pages, AirAsia Newsroom and AskBo on the AirAsia MOVE app.

Dailisan added that to ensure a hassle-free journey, AirAsia advises travelers to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures, as check-in counters open two hours ahead per CAB regulations.

To avoid long queues, guests without checked baggage are encouraged to use self-check-in kiosks.

“For added convenience, travelers can opt for the Value Pack Lite bundle which includes 20kg of checked baggage and seat selection starting at just P660 per flight. For a smooth travel experience, passengers are also advised to review the latest baggage guidelines and list of restricted items,” he added.
