Manila International Airport Authority under general manager Cesar Chiong commended airport employees for exemplifying honesty and integrity and setting a good example for other airport workers to emulate.

Chiong made the pronouncement after American passenger Terrance Alspach recovered USD 1,017 worth P55,237.85 which he inadvertently dropped in the departure area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 while completing departure formalities to board his flight bound for Tokyo, Japan via ANA Airlines.

“This is a result of the collaboration of personnel from various agencies. Their actions not only helped the passenger who had lost his money but also upheld the reputation of NAIA as a whole. It is heartening to know that airport people prioritize doing the right thing and their actions deserve our respect and recognition,” said Chiong.

According to a report that reached Chiong’s office, a wheelchair attendant saw the unattended bills and alerted Aviation Security guard Mercy Pecson, who reached out to ANA Airlines, NAIA Terminal 3 Operations and Airport Police Department (APD) for assistance.

After 30 minutes, pinasa na yung picture nung Amerikano, si Mr. Terrence Alspach, flight NH280, ANA Airlines,” she added.
