AFTER 15 years of being terrorized and sexually abused by her own father, a 33 year- old woman finally broke her silence and sought police assistance.
The suspect, a spiritual healer and resident of Bgy. Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City, was arrested by operatives of the city police station under Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea.
The suspect also yielded a home-made cal. 38 revolver with four live bullets during his arrest.
The victim told police that the last time she was raped by the suspect was on Thursday morning, Albacea said.
The victim said her father had been raping her since she was 18 years old. This was after after her mother had abandoned the suspect.
The victim said the suspect continuously raped her until she got pregnant and gave birth to her first child who is now a 14year-old boy.
She said her agony continued until the suspect impregnated her again for four times.
The victim said she feels hypnotized during and after being raped by the suspect who is a native of Dolores, Quezon where spiritual healing is a common practice of many residents.
“Matagal ko na pong binalak na magsumbong sa police pero bukod po sa tinatakot niya (suspect) ako na papatayin niya kaming mag-iina, para din pong may kung anong lakas na pumipigil sa akin na gawin iyon,”Albacea quoted the victim to have said.
But when her two youngest children died of illnesses, the victim said she was bothered by her conscience and finally decided to seek police assistance through the help of broadcat journalist Raffy Tulfo via online chat.
At the police station, Albacea said the victim refrained from being touched by the suspect, for fear of being hypnotized.
“Sigurado pong matatakot na naman ako kapag nahawakan niya ako,” said the victim.
When asked by probers about the victim’s allegations, Albacea said the suspect refused to speak.
Aside from multiple counts of rape, the suspect will also be charged with illegal possession of firearm.
