THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has strongly condemned the “malicious and baseless imputation” floated by a lawyer that Secretary Eduardo Año was nowhere to be found during the onslaught of typhoon Ulysses.
In a rejoinder addressed to Atty. Wilfredo Garrido, the DILG said that Secretary Año was definitely in the right places doing the right actions at the right time contrary to what the lawyer-critic’s uery “where have you been?” wanted to imply.
According to Undersecretary and Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya, the DILG for security reasons opted not to make public 24/7, the whereabouts of Secretary Año to avoid accusations of being “epal” in this time of crisis.
“Everyone knew where Secretary (Eduardo) Año was, before, during and after the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses except for lawyer (Wilfredo) Garrido,” Malaya said.
As a retired Armed Forces chief with a solid track record in public service, Año according to Malaya has the discipline of a good solider and the integrity to do his duty especially during disasters.
