ARIELLA Arida was our representative to the Miss Universe Pageant held in Moscow, Russia in 2013 and she placed as third runner up. She hails from Alaminos, Laguna and has a degree in chemistry from UP Los Baños. After her stint as Bb. Pilipinas, she became a co-host in “Wowowin” and was also a judge in “Showtime”.
She tried her hand in acting last year in ABS-CBN’s daytime series, “Playhouse”, and now, she’s in the cast of a new teleserye, “The Killer Bride”, where she co-stars with Maja Salvador and Joshua Garcia. She was linked to Willie Revillame when she was with “Wowowin”. Is it true Willie tried to woo her? “No, sa first meeting pa lang namin, he asked me kung may boyfriend ako and I didn’t lie, inamin ko agad na meron, kasi may boyfriend nga ako that time. But in spite of that, kinuha pa rin niya akong co-host and I really enjoyed my stay in the show. Nahasa ako maging host, but no, he never courted me.”
What about the rumor that she left GMA and moved to ABS-CBN because of differences with Willie? “That’s not true po. If you’d notice, talaga naman silang nagpapalit ng co-hosts doon. In my case, nagka-conflict, kasi may assignment ako abroad, so I had to leave the show. But there’s no bad blood at all between me and Kuya Willie or GMA. Nataon lang, Director Jeffrey Jeturian offered me a role in ‘Playhouse’ kaya napunta ako sa ABS and now, may bago na nga akong ginagawang teleserye.”
So is she and her boyfriend then still on? “ As of now, wala po akong boyfriend. Sinusubukan ko ang acting at nagsisimula pa lang ako rito. I’m enjoying it naman, so I want to focus on this muna.”
