Bagunas goes to 'GO'

GO for Gold-Air Force yesterday announced that Philippine men’s volleyball team ace Bryan Bagunas has signed for another two years.

The team management has also assured Bagunas that he can continue to play in Japan’s Men’s V-League.

“He is also currently signed to Oita Miyoshi in the Japanese V-League, but will play for our team when his schedule allows,” said Go for Gold’s Facebook page in a statement.

A native of Balayan, Batangas, Bagunas plans to fly back to Japan in August or September to link anew with his club team.

Known as one of the heroes of the country’s historic silver medal finish in the 30th Southeast Asian Games last year, Bagunas was instrumental in Go for Gold’s impressive first season in the Spikers’ Turf. The Jet Spikers finished second in the Reinforced Conference.

Bagunas is a two-time UAAP men’s volleyball champion for National University and a Season 81 MVP last year.

Spikers’ Turf, which was suppose to begin its fifth season last April but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is plotting for a September opening.
