THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said that the printing of official ballots that will be used for the May 12 National and Local Elections (NLE) may be finished by March 15, 2025.
Comelec Chairperson George Erwin Garcia said that as of March 13, about 66 million ballots have already been printed so that only around 1.4 million ballots are needed to be printed.
These ballots, he said, may be finished by Friday night. The reprinting of about 2.3 million ballots, Garcia added, may be done until Saturday.
“Matatapos bukas ng gabi ang printing ng balota, may ilan lang tayong reprints… Mga Sabado ng umaga matatapos na kasama ang reprints,” Garcia stated.
After the printing, Garcia said they will focus on verification which they expect to be finished in April.
Currently, the Comelec has finished verification of 33 million ballots.
“Ang verification aabutin pa kami ng bandang mga April katulad ng nabanggit natin dati. At least yung printing kung matatapos tayo hanggang Sabado, maaga pa rin base sa ating naging declaration dati,” Garcia said.
