Barangay chair nabbed for firearm discharge

OPERATIVES from the Manila Police District -Police Station 1 arrested a barangay chairman in Manila after allegedly firing his gun amid a clearing operation on July 12 in Tondo, Manila.

Now in the custody of the MPD-PS1 is Barangay Chairman Rodelio Yu of Barangay 122 , 57, of No. 169 Sardonyx St., Brgy. 122, Tondo, Manila. He was nabbed for alleged discharge of firearm.

Police reported that the incident took place at 10 a.m. along Amethyst Street in Brgy. 122, Tondo, Manila.

Yu’s arrest stemmed from a complaint lodged by Rosalina Ramos, 60; Benjamin Ramos,67; Alvin Ramos,39 and Aizell Rose Ramos, all of No. 188 Saphire St., Brgy. 122, Tondo, Manila.

Reportedly, a clearing operation was being conducted in Yu’s area of jurisdiction when the complainants, who belong to one family, objected.

Owing to this, Yu allegedly fired his gun toward the ground several times.

Policemen responded and accosted Yu who showed a permit to carry, an LTOPF ID and Firearms Registration ID.

He was brought to the MPD for further investigation.
