Batangas police arrest 105 offenders in a week

CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas — At least 105 individuals were arrested in a week for various offenses in this province.

Thirty-six of the suspects were nabbed for illegal gambling, 29 of them are wanted persons and nine are on the most wanted person lists, according to provincial police PIO chief Police Lieutenant Mary Anne DV Espina.

These were the accomplishments in the first week of March of the Batangas Police Provincial Office headed by Batangas police director Col. Rex Arvin T. Malimban.

A suspect identified as Carlos P. Mantes was killed while he was being served an arrest warrant the other day in Bgy. Matabungkay, Lian, Batangas. Wounded were two Calatagan MPS operatives.

Meanwhile, the Batangas Provincial Police Office collared 33 suspects and seized suspected shabu as well as marijuana worth approximately P69,748. during operations against illegal drugs.

Seven were apprehended and nine weapoms were seized in the intensified drive against loose firearms.
