Baying Drug Group member killed in Laguna shootout

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was killled in a shootout with operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit PROIVA and Bay police following a buy bust Tuesday night in Bgy. Dila, Bay, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II, in a report to CALABARZON Regional IVA Director PBGen. Felipe Natividad, identified the slain suspect as Ronald Mullet, who sustained gunshot wounds in the body.

The suspect was an alleged member of the Baying Drug Group operating in Laguna.

At about 11:55 p.m., joint operatives of RDEU PRO4A, RID4A and Bay police conducted a buy-bust in Bgy. Dila, Bay, that resulted in an armed confrontation.

A poseur buyer purchased a medium-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu from the suspect using a genuine P1,000 bill mixed with several pieces of boodle money.

During the transaction, the suspect noticed that the buy- bust was fake and sensed that he was transacting with a cop. The suspect immediately pulled out his firearm and fired at the poseur buyer prompting the operatives to retaliate.

Recovered from the possession of the slain suspect were five heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu with estimated street value of P68,000, a brick of suspected marijuana, the buy bust money used mixed with several bundles of boodle money, a black Honda XRM Motorcycle without plate number and a Caliber .45 pistol.
