Beauty Salon DOLE Assisted Livelihood Project Turnover

Cagayan de Oro City – The Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro City, led by Mayor Hon. Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy, conducted a turnover ceremony for the DOLE Assisted Livelihood Project at the Cagayan de Oro City Jail-Male Dormitory. This initiative provided a former Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) with beauty salon products valued at ₱30,000.

JO1 Theody Mar P Baguio represented the jail during the event, highlighting the importance of community support in the rehabilitation process. This project was made possible through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office-X, specifically under their Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), also known as the Kabuhayan Program.

The DILP/Kabuhayan Program is an innovative initiative designed to empower the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers of the Philippines by helping them establish or enhance their livelihood undertakings.

Under the supervision of City Jail Warden JSUPT WILLIAM T MANENGYAO, DPA, and the guidance of SJO4 Aldous S Ybañez, Chief of the Welfare and Development, the Cagayan de Oro City Jail-Male Dormitory is grateful for the opportunity afforded to this former PDL, emphasizing the commitment to their successful reintegration into society.
