Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon identified the arrested suspect as William Parungo, 37, elected kagawad of Bgy. San Roque, San Luis, Pampanga.

De Leon said the suspect is considered as a high value individual.

Col. Arnold Ibay, Pampanga Police Provincial director, reported to the PRO3 chief that personnel of San Luis police conducted anti-illegal drug operation, resulting to the arrest of Parungo.

Seized from Parungo were two medium heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and seven small heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 7.5 grams with an estimated street value of P51,000; a black Nokia basic cell phone; two P100 bills; a P500 bill used as marked money; and a Honda Wave motorcycle without plate number.

Charges for violation of Sec 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared against the suspect

The arrest of Parungo which is an elected barangay councilor only goes to show that we are committed in our campaign to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs and that we are enforcing the law without fear or favor,” De Leon said.
