The Bureau of Immigration (BI) marked its 84th anniversary at the BI headquarters in Intramuros, Manila with the launching its e-library, a milestone in the agency’s push towards modernization and themed, “BI: Balik-Tanaw at Inspirasyon.”

“This e-library is not just a repository of documents, but a vital tool in our ongoing modernization efforts. It will enhance transparency, streamline our processes, and ensure that important information is accessible to all who need it, ”said BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

The celebration also recognized outstanding employees and marked the final BI anniversary at its historic Intramuros office before the agency relocates to its new building in Pasay City.

Tansingco said the BI e-library provides a centralized digital platform where all BI issuances, including memoranda and administrative orders, are stored. Users can easily access these documents through the platform using simple search functions by author, title, or date of issue. The e-library also supports the preservation of documents by digitizing and archiving them for long-term use.

“This move toward digitalization marks our commitment to building a more efficient, responsive, and modern Bureau. The e-library will allow our employees, researchers, and policymakers to retrieve and update relevant information quickly, helping us stay responsive to the changing demands of our work,” Tansingco added.
