“Tulungan natin ang bansa natin, kelangan ng bansa natin ng tulong and I assure you personally that I am joining you in joining the right side of history. Pagbutihin nating lahat, mahalin natin ang ating bansa, mahalin ninyo ang inyong panunumpa, bilang mga bagong Customs Broker.”

Thus stated Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, as he formally welcomed the successful examinees of the November 2025 Customs Brokers Licensure Examination when he served as Guest of Honor and Speaker during the oath-taking ceremony of the newly- licensed customs brokers on December 19, 202, an event that was attended by more than 2,000 inductees, along with their families and guests.

Nepomuceno, in his message, congratulated the new license holders for their perseverance and dedication, emphasizing that becoming a customs broker comes with a higher level of responsibility and moral accountability.

Too, he urged the inductees to view their profession as an opportunity to make a positive difference, especially amid the challenges faced by the country and the institution they may soon serve.

“Always think every morning that you can be the bright star in your own office, in BOC if you join, in your own corporations/logistics company, the darker it is because of the things that happen in our country, the brighter star you should be,” Commissioner Nepomuceno said, as he encouraged the inductees to uphold integrity and professionalism in their respective workplaces.

He further called on the new customs brokers to actively contribute to nation-building and to remain faithful to the oath they had taken.

Nepomuceno also shared insights on the challenges and pressures faced by the Bureau of Customs, noting that these difficulties have served as catalysts for reform and continuous improvement within the agency.

He strongly encouraged the newly-licensed customs brokers to face future challenges with professionalism, resilience and a strong sense of purpose and to contribute meaningfully to national development and the ongoing modernization efforts of the BOC.
