The Port of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) recently conducted an assessment summit at the NAIA Customs House Conference Room in Pasay City as part of the commitment of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) to enhance trade facilitation and strengthen revenue collection.

The discussions focused on improving the processing of entries and collection of correct duties and taxes.

District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan heads the Port. Lawyer Alex Gaticales, customs and trade consultant, attended the event along with assessment unit chiefs and officers of the Port’s warehouses and subport.

Gaticales stressed the importance of accurately monitoring import transactions and studying related legal rulings.

For her part, Talusan expounded on the importance of reviewing the Port’s processes and echoed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for government agencies to embrace digitalization.

She said the BOC would continue implementing its modernization programs to collect duties and taxes efficiently while maintaining border security.

She also said that the Port would continue to reform and enhance its processes to provide service to all stakeholders.
