A MEMBER of the “Bumatay” carnapping group was nabbed in Tondo, Manila the other day for forcing a prospective victim to buy a motorcycle which was not even in his possession.
The Manila Police District-Station 7 identified the suspect as Bernardo Capulong, 27, of 2642 Lico St., Tondo.
It was learned that a complainant went to the said police station saying the suspect was forcing him to buy a motorcycle which is not even in his possession.
The incident took place at around 3:30 p.m. in front of the Funeraria Cruz on Rizal Avenue in Tondo.
The police accompanied the complainant who pretended to be interested but the suspect sensed that the complainant’s companion was a cop. He tried to flee but was nabbed instantly.
Police recovered from the suspect an improvised gun and live ammunition. He will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition before the Manila Prosecutors Office.
