Burglars steal chickens, ducks, rice, palay from farmer’s resthouse

TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – A farmer was victimized here on Wednesday by unidentified burglars who broke into his farmhouse and stole several cavans of rice and palay, 12 of his live poultry animals, including his water pump, and manual sprayer, a police report said.

Newly-designated police commander Major Roderick Corpuz, who replaced erstwhile police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito, said looted was the farmhouse of Felino Sanglay, 59, in Bgy. Sampaloc at 5 a.m.

Reports said the unidentified suspects gained entry into the compound by destroying the backyard fence and the front door knob of the resthouse.

Carted away by the suspects were nine 50-kilo-bags of rice, three cavans of palay (binhi), a Robin water pump, a rechargeable sprayer, an LPG tank, and 10 heads of live chicken and two ducks.
