Butcher slaughters man!

A 33-YEAR-OLD butcher slaughtered Sunday evening in Malabon City an auto electrician for allegedly criticizing the suspect’s mini-store.

Wilfredo Lasin, 58, of No. 40 Javier II Bgy. Baritan succumbed to multiple stab wounds in the body while being rushed by witness Mirasol Tolentino, 33, to the Ospital ng Malabon.
The suspect identified as Jerwin Lorenzo, of Luna II St., Bgy. San Agustin escaped after the killing.

Malabon police homicide investigators P/SSgt. Jose Romeo Germinal II and P/ Cpl. Archie Beniasan said the victim was sitting on a bench onLuna II St. at around 8:50 p.m. when the suspect, armed with a kitchen knife, approached him from behind and stabbed him repeatedly in the body.

Elements of the Malabon Police Sub-Station 6, upon receiving the reported killing, immediately conducted a follow-up operation that resulted in the immediate arrest of Lorenzo and the recovery of the bloodstained kitchen knife.

SSgt. Germinal in an interview over the phone said the suspect harbored a grudge against the victim for allegedly condemning the mini-store he and his live-in partner had put up in front of their house.

However, police said witnesses disputed the suspect’s allegation and claimed the victim never intervened with Lorenzo’s mini store, arousing suspicion that the latter may have a deeper reason behind the murder of Lasin.
