Cagayan cops nab 2 drug dealers

TWO known drug dealers in Cagayan province were hauled to jail by the local police in separate buy-bust operations on Monday, a report to Police Regional Office 2 director, Brigadier General Crizaldo O. Nieves said yesterday.

Cagayan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Ariel N. Quilang identified the arrested suspects as Avleino Masirag, a 40-year old tricycle driver from Barangay Bauan West in Solana municipality and Jenesis Sinco, a resident of Bgy. Magapit in Lal-lo town.

“The two are both included in our list of drug personalities in Cagayan who have long been under surveillance,” said the official.

Quilang said that Masirag was arrested 11:45 a.m. Monday in Bgy. Lanna in Solana after he sold drugs to a local police undercover officer.

Recovered from the suspect were a heat-sealed plastic sachet containing shabu and a marked P500 bill paid to him by the poseur. The suspect’s tricycle with plate no. BE73773 was impounded by the Solana police.

Sinco was arrested during a sting in Bgy. Aguiguican, Gattaran 1:10 p.m. Monday. The suspect yielded a plastic sachet containing the so-called’ poor man’s cocaine’ and a marked P500 bill.

Quilang said the two suspects are facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act9 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
