Caloocan, DOLE launch ‘FreeBis’

THE City Government of Caloocan, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment, launched a “FreeBis” of Free Bisikleta program for online sellers which will be used for their delivery service.

Under the program, the first 44 qualified beneficiaries received free bicycle with water bottle holder, carrier insulated leather bag, helmet with reflectorized vest, adult PVC rain coat and cellular phone with P5,000 load.

Mayor Oca said that during the affair, four of the qualified beneficiaries also received free tablets courtesy of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.

The qualified beneficiaries, according to Mayor Oca, were engaged in an online business in North and South Caloocan and underwent thorough processing and profiling by the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) before they were subjected for preparation training.

Caloocan Rep. Along Malapitan, DOLE Assistant Secretary Victor Del Rosario, DOLE-NCR Asst. Regional Director Atty. Marian Sevilla and PESO Caloocan head Violeta Gonzales also took part in the launching of the program.
