MANILA Police District (MPD) Director Gen. Arnol Thomas Ibay announced the arrest on Monday afternoon in Quiapo, Manila, of a carnapper who had been reportedly in hiding for the past two years.
Ibay said the Manila Police District-District Police Intelligence Operation Unit (DPIOU) nabbed Ricky Ceres ,39, currently a delivery driver, at around 12 noon on Raon Street in Quiapo, Manila.
Verez was reportedly nabbed by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Manila RTC Presiding Judge Phillip Charles Santos of Branch 45 dated December 22, 2022, regarding the suspect’s case for violation of Section 3 of R.A 10883 (new anti-carnapping act).
Judge Santos recommended a bail of P300,000 for the suspect’s provisional liberty.
The suspect is in the custody of the DPIOU and is slated to be brought to the court for proper disposition.
