A 27-year-old carpenter died after being beaten up the other day by his older brother during an altercation in the middle of their drinking session right inside their shared home at Area H, Gate 19, Brgy.20, Parola Compound Tondo, Manila.
The victim was identified as Niño Matito. His brother Nicolas Matito, 54, was arrested.
Manila Police District -homicide section chief PCapt. Dennis Turla said the incident took place at around 3:15 a.m. The two were said to be having a drinking session when they suddenly had a heated argument until the elder Matito beat up the victim.
When the victim lost consciousness, concerned household members brought him to the nearest hospital where he died hours later.
The suspect is now detained at the MPD while appropriate charges are being readied against him.
