TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — Provincial Governor Juanito Victor ‘Jonvic’ Remulla announced on his official social media page that the provincial government procured 3M doses of Novavax for free vaccination of 1.5 million Cavitenos as early as 4 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Remulla presented through Facebook page series #ECQ Season 2, Episode 7 titled : “NOVAVAX” that the vaccines are for Caviteños, 18-59 years old, while the national government prioritizes health care workers, senior citizens and indigent Pinoys.

Remulla said the provincial government expects the delivery of the vaccines in July and not later than December 2021.

The provincial government alloted P1.8 billion through the assistance of local government units (LGUs) including the logistics, storage, delivery and registration process.

Remulla said COVID-positive cases in the province is record setting among five provinces in Calabarzon Region. There were a total of 1,844 new cases of 6,303 active cases in the province based on the post of DoH CHD 4A and PIA Calabarzon

The national government has started the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccine rollout for frontliners, senior citizens and co-morbid residents.

Remulla also encouraged fellow Caviteños to be vaccinated to stop the spread of COVID-19. Throughout modern history, the vaccine has long been proven to be effective in stopping the spread of pandemic.

I would rather give my slot to someone more vulnerable and in need, ” said Remulla.

As early as last July 2020, Remulla has been preparing for the vaccination of Caviteños in which approximately 63 percent of the country are hesitant to get vaccinated.

Approx. 63% of the country is hesitant to get vaccinated.

On his Facebook post last July 30, 2020, Remulla said Cavite would implement a provincial Identification system for effective administration of the vaccine once it becomes locally available.
