CLARK FREEPORT — Manuel R. Gaerlan, newly-designated president and chief executive officer of the state-owned Clark Development Corp. (CDC) wants to attract more investors to create more jobs for Filipinos and generate more income to the country.

Gaerlan said he is introducing ‘legacy projects’ to further entice investors. “CDC is selling our country to investors to generate more jobs and help the Philippines,” said the recently retired police general.

He also vowed to make CDC a tourism destination in Asia.

We’ll buckle down to work to achieve these goals and I will also assure to help the investors inside CDC, which now has 1,332 locators. I was just asked by the President to lead CDC and turn it around. We have a responsibility to our country and the Filipino people,” said Gaerlan.

Gaerlan, graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in 1985 as class valedictorian and summa cum laude, and holds the current record for the highest four-year overall Grade Point Average in PMA history.

He added that as a matter of policy, he wants to sustain the programs and gains of the past leadership under its former president Noel Manankil who resigned recently.
