A MEMBER of the Bahala na Gang was arrested after snatching the cellphone of a woman aboard a passenger jeep the other day at the corner of Mabini and Padre Faura Streets in Ermita, Manila.
Now facing a case of violation of Article 293 under the Revised Penal Cod before the Manila Prosecutors’ Office is suspect identified as Ferdie Marquez,25, of 1323 Guerrero St.
The victim, Maria Cristina Rodil 31 , office staff, of 724 Tandem Bldg., Quirino Ave, cor. Leveriza St., was aboard a jeep at around 11 a.m. when her cellphone was snatched.
The victim got off the jeep and chased the suspect while shouting for help.
PCpl. Julius Wei Wei Quillope, PCpl. Eric Quimson and Patrolmen Cedy Regala, Roy Valler, and Aldrin Vacunawa were patrolling the area and joined the chase until the suspect was cornered along Guerrero Street in Ermita.
The victim’s cellphone was recovered.
