A 31-year-old male Chinese passenger was injured after falling off from the NAIA Terminal 1 departure ramp on the evening of April 1, 2025 in what is said to be a case of attempted suicide.
The incident took place between the departure and main arrival at around 7:40 p.m.
The injured individual was later identified as Lin Funian, a Chinese national, based on the identification card he was carrying.
He was allegedly intoxicated when he attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the corner of the NAIA Terminal 1 West Departure Curbside Area and landed at the Arrival Curbside Area near Bay A1.
Security personnel on-site immediately contacted the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) Terminal 1 Medical Clinic for medical assistance.
The passenger landed on the main arrival west curbside area and remained conscious following the fall.
With Lin still alive and responsive, the NNIC Medical Team administered first aid and subsequently brought him to Pasay City General Hospital for further medical attention and treatment.
The matter is still being investigated by airport authorities.
