OWING to pending cases, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) did not push through yet with the proclamation of two party-list groups who won in the recently-concluded May 12 midterm polls.
Comelec chairman George Garcia said the said party-list groups are the Duterte Youth which got three Congressional seats and the Bagong Henerasyon with one.
Prior to the proclamation of other party-list winners, Garcia clarified that the suspension of the proclamation does not mean that the two said groups will not be proclaimed ever, saying the proclamation will push through as soon as the cases they face are resolved.
“Kung hindi sila maproklama mamaya (Lunes, Mayo 19), hindi nangangahulugang hindi na sila mapoproklama sa mga susunod na araw. Kaya lang pinagpaliban muna bilang pagrespeto ng proseso rin,” Garcia said.
Meanwhile, the other party-list groups that won in the midterm polls were proclaimed at the The Manila Hotel, Tent City.
