THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) formally opened its ‘online precinct finder’ to the public as the May 12, 2025 midterm polls nears.

The Comelec stated in its Facebook post on Wednesday that with the help of the precinct finder, voters may check the polling place where they may cast their vote, including the precinct number, by accessing the link https://precinctfinder.comelec.gov.ph.

“COMELEC Precinct Finder is now live! Alam mo na ba kung saan ka boboto sa darating na halalan?Hanapin ang iyong Polling Place para sa May 12, 2025 National and Local Elections gamit ang Precinct Finder sa https://precinctfinder.comelec.gov.ph,” the post added.

In using the precinct finder, a voter only has to ready certain information including full name, date of birth and place of registration.

Through this, a voter may know whether or not he is in the active list and if he can vote or had been deactivated.

Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said the poll body has devised ways to ensure the security of the online precinct finder against hackers and other similar attacks.

Garcia added that the Comelec has registered 35 million attempts at hacking on the poll body’s system.

“Surely, they will attempt to hack our system…kasi nga po ang Comelec ang may pinakamalawak na data ng mga Pilipino sa lahat ng ahensya ng pamahalaan. May mga na-set up tayo na parameters at paraan to secure the precinct finder,” Garcia added.

Comelec data shows that there are 69,673,655 registered voters for the midterm polls in May.
