Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia said that the poll body aims to proclaim the 12 winning senators by weekend.
When asked by the media if May 17 would be the earliest that the proclamation can be made, Garcia said: “Yes. Sana. Kung papasok lahat ngayon.”
As of Tuesday noon, 98.99% of the total local election returns (ERs) have been transmitted to the Comelec transparency servers. This is 92,453 out of the 93,387 expected total ERs.
The Comelec reconvened on Tuesday afternoon, sitting as National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), to continue the canvassing of votes for senators and party-list groups in the recently-concluded midterm polls.
