Cook arrested for ‘holdup me’

THE Manila Police District-Station 6 arrested in San Andres Bukid, Manila a cook who allegedly concocted a “hold up me” scenario to dupe his employer of money, after his cohort reportedly snitched on him.

The suspect, identified as Liliana Magalona, 26, a stay-in cook, pleaded but was not forgiven by her employer Marivic Martinez, 37, of Sta. Ana, Manila.

A probe by PSSg Richard Ruba showed that pedicab driver Ariel Cahatol, 34, residing on 1710 Onyx St., San Andres Bukid, confessed to the police that the suspect asked for his cooperation to make it appear that she had been held up by two men while aboard his pedicab, purportedly at around 1 a.m. along San Andres Bukid.

The cook asked Cahatol to bring her to Diamante Street and while cruising along Onyx Street, she asked the driver to help her since she spent the money entrusted to her by her employer.

The suspect reportedly even stabbed herself with a pair of scissors and told the pedicab driver to bring her first to her employer and then to the Sta.Ana Hospital. When police conducted a probe however, it turned out that the holdup was not true.

The suspect later confessed having fabricated the story and returned to the complainant P13,000 out of the P31,000 that was entrusted to her.

A case of qualified theft was filed by the complainant against the suspect before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
