Cop loses firearm, P95K to Bukas Kotse Gang

CABANATUAN CITY — A police sergeant fell prey to suspected Bukas-Kotse gang members here after his service firearm and P95,000 cash were discovered stolen from his Subaro Sports Utility Vehicle in front of his house on Friday afternoon.

Lt. Col. Barnhard Danie Dasugo, city police head, said the heist occurred at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Victimized was Senior Master Sgt. Ryhs Christian Hernandez, 41, assigned with the Sto. Domingo police station, of Maharlika Highway, Mulawin Street, Bgy. Bitas.

Dasugo said Hernandez had parked his Subaro Forester SUV (NAP 5489) in front of his house. He discovered that unidentified thieves had looted his SUV at 1:30 p.m. the following day.

The SUV’s right rear-side glass window was smashed open and found missing was the lawman’s black sling bag containing his Glock 9mm pistol and P95,000 in cash.

Dasugo said a follow-up investigation is now being conducted including the review of CCTV camera footages within the vicinity for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
