COVID-19 vaccination and Manila Zoo operations, suspended this Holy Week

The COVID-19 vaccination in Manila will be suspended in the coming days, along with the operations at the Manila Zoo.

In an advisory, Atty. Princess Abante, spokesperson of Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, said the that in observance of the Lenten season, there will be no vaccination from Maundy Thursday up to Easter Sunday.

Abante also said that the suspension of vaccination will be extended up to April 10, which had been declared a holiday by Malacanang in observance of the Day of Valor. Vaccination will be back on April 11, she added.

The Manila Health Department headed by Dr. Poks Pangan meanwhile said that the available vaccine for adults is Sinovac and Pfizer for those aged five to 11.

Meanwhile, Manila Zoo will be closed on Thurdsay and Friday and will resume operations on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m.

Abante said all booked appointments on said dates will be rescheduled, as she asked for the public’s understanding.
