POLICE have captured an escapee under guardianship at the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in Purok 1, Bgy. Antipolo Del Norte, Lipa City, Batangas.
Lipa City Police Station head cop Lt. Col. Lory E. Tarrazona identified the arrested suspect as Joshua Mameng.
Tarrazona said Lipa City PS personnel conducted an operation at around 10:50 p.m. against Mameng who was under the custody of the CSWDO personnel.
Mameng was arrested on March 25, 2020, by virtue of a Writ to Take Custody of a Child in Conflict with the Law for Carnapping dated March 9, 2020, under case No. 06-0504-2018 issued by Judge Noel M. Lindog, Branch 2, of Family Court (FC), in Lipa City with no bail recommended.
The suspect was turned over by city police to CSWDO, Lipa City on the same date but escaped on November 29, 2020.
It was revealed that Mameng is a member of a newly identified drug group known as “Y” Drug Group of Lipa City, Tarrazona added.
