Delivery man molests woman with disability

POLICE arrested on Monday a 25-year-old delivery man who allegedly sexually molested a woman with developmental disability in Navotas City.

Navotas police chief P/Col. Rolando Balasabas said he ordered the arrest of Carlo Cruz, 25, of Leongson Kadiwa Ext Everlasting St., Brgy San Roque, after the incident was reported to their office at around 3 a.m. on Monday.

Investigation conducted by P/Cpl. Rina Bugayong, of the Navotas Police Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), showed that around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Gina (not her real name), 22, was walking on her way home after buying food from a nearby sari-sari store when the suspect approached and placed his arm on the victim’s shoulder.

The suspect brought Gina to his house and while inside, forced her to lie down and started to molest her.

The victim’s uncle, who was alarmed when her niece failed to return home, sought the help of a family friend, and together with Gina’s mother, they searched for the victim until they found her inside the suspect’s residence.

Gina’s mother told police that her daughter revealed to her what happened while she was inside the suspect’s house prompting them to seek police assistance.

Operatives of Navotas police Sub-Station 2, led by P/Cpl. Patty Bordallo and Pt. Mark Joseph Quillan, through the directive of Col. Balasabas, immediately arrested the suspect who is now facing rape charges before the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office.
