DepEd launches Umali’s ‘Lakad Ko, Isusulat Ko’

CABANATUAN CITY – The Department of Education-Division of Nueva Ecija has launched a novel program described as a brainchild of Gov. Aurelio M. Umali which calls on Novo Ecijanos to keep a day-to-day record of the places they had gone to in order to serve as ready reference for contact-tracing amid this pandemic.

Dubbed as “Project WATCH” (We Advocate Time Consciousness & Honesty), the DepEd-DNE launched the program with the theme “Dahil Mahal Ko Pamilya Ko, Lakad Ko Ay Isusulat Ko.”
It was actually a proposal espoused earlier by Umali urging his provincemates to become “record-conscious” by always keeping notes of every place they go during this COVID-19 pandemic, the DepEd-DNE said.

Gabaldon town officials led by Mayor Jobby P. Emata and Vice Mayor Victorino V. Sabino threw their full support behind the DepEd-DNE’s advocacy which was also aimed to make the process of contact-tracing of COVID-19 cases faster and easier, and at the same time, to also ensure the safety of the teachers and their loved ones.

“Dahil Mahal Ko Pamilya Ko, Lakad Ko Isusulat Ko ay isang adbokasiya na isinusulong ng DepEd-Nueva Ecija upang makatulong na mabigyang prioridad ang kaligtasan ng bawat Novo Ecijano,” said DepEd-NE Schools Division Supt. Jessie D. Ferrer.

Ferrer asked his province-mates to be a part of this advocacy to become record-conscious whenever they go outside of their homes in order to keep every family and our community safe.

Umali said he was thankful that the DepEd-DNE made true his earlier proposal. He hoped his province-mates will adhere to it to keep Nueva Ecija safe from the virus.

“Kinakailangang mapanatiling ligtas ang ating mga guro dahil malaki ang papel na kanilang ginagampanan upang maipagpatuloy ang edukasyon ng mga kabataan sa kabila ng hamon ng New Normal dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic,” said Umali.
