A network of digital advocates today launched a public reporting platform to help curb illegal online gambling in the country.
Digital Pinoys national campaigner Ronald Gustilo said the group’s website is now open to receive reports against illegal online gambling sites, endorsers, and advertisements.
“People who want to file a report can go to digitalpinoys.org/notoillegalgambling. All submissions will be verified against PAGCOR’s list of licensed online gambling operators. Verified cases will then be endorsed to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for proper action,” Gustilo explained.
He assured the public that the identity of those who report will be kept confidential. “We want to protect those who courageously stand with us in this battle against illegal online gambling. Reporters may remain anonymous if they choose, and their safety will be our priority.”
Gustilo also warned that individuals and platforms profiting from illegal gambling promotions will not be spared. “Influencers, celebrities, websites, and messaging apps that enable or promote illegal online gambling will also be included in endorsements for page takedown and the filing of charges. Accountability will extend to everyone who aids or abets this industry.”
“Illegal online gambling preys on the vulnerable and undermines public welfare. This platform is a way for ordinary Filipinos to join the fight and help protect our communities from its harms,” Gustilo added.
