Dimples realizes what is most important now

DIMPLES Romana is thankful that ABS-CBN gave her the go signal to do “Oh My Dad” with TV5 while she still has no assignment with them.

“Ang tagal ko na ring bakante since the lockdown so dapat na talagang mag-back to work,” she says at the “Oh My Dad” zoom presscon. “Nanibago lang ako siempre, kasi lock in taping kami kaya matagal din akong nalayo sa family ko. Na-miss ko talaga ang husband ko’t mga anak ko and the more I realized that family is everything.

“Wala nang magiging mas importante para sa isang tao kundi ang pamilya niya. Habang nasa location, lagi ko silang naiisip kasi alam nyo naman ang sitwasyon ngayon, nakakapraning dahil sa corona virus na ‘yan na sana naman, matapos na.”

She’s thankful that Brightlight Productions got her to play the role of Ian Veneracion’s love interest in “Oh My Dad”. “Wala akong masasabi, pati kay Atty. Joji Alonso ng Quantum Films na supervising producer namin, alagang-alaga nila kami sa set. Actually, very comfortable kami kasi we’re all in one location. Hindi kami sa tent lang nagpapahinga kundi may aircon rooms talaga kaming lahat. Kapag magte-take ka na, doon ka na lang tatawagin, so focused kami lahat sa trabaho kasi walang uwian. At sagana kami sa pagkain, pati sa fruits.”

Dimples play the niece of Gloria Diaz in the story. Gloria’s boyfriend is Ariel Ureta, who is Ian Veneracion’s dad. Ian tries to woo her but she’s cautious as it turns out he has three grown up children he is not aware of played by Sue Ramirez, Louise Abuel and Adrian Lindayag.

“Our director is Jeffrey Jeturian at ang galing-galing niya,” adds Dimples. “The show is very heartwarming and imparts good values about family, love and acceptance so don’t miss it when it starts airing this coming Saturday, October 24, at 5 PM on TV5.”

We hope the show will click with the viewers. But how true is it that Dimples was allowed by ABS-CBN to do “Oh My Dad” for only one season? What if it’s a hit and it’s extended? Does that mean Dimples has to exit from the show?

RK Bagatsing feels flattered to be chosen as the leading man of Beauty Gonzales and Jane Oineza in TV5’s new love triangle drama, “I Got You”. In the story, he’s a soldier being treated by Beauty Gonzales, a psychotherapist, for post traumatic stress disorder and they fall in love, but they had to break up when Beauty discovered he’s lying about some things.

RK says he can relate very well with his character as he has also broken up with his longtime girlfriend in real life. “It’s so sad kasi matagal na kami, since high school pa,” he says. “At my age, 32, it’s my first breakup. Halos 15 years na rin kami. Maayos naman ang naging breakup namin. It’s a mutual decision. We just both felt it’s time that we have to move on and start a new chapter in our lives. We wished naman each other all the best.”

It’s good the offer to star in a new show like “I Got You” came as it helps him take his mind off the breakup.

“So, sa ngayon, focus muna ako totally dito sa career ko. Kasi acting is a good outlet for your feelings when you’re hurting, e. It helps you to move on,” he shares.

He feels lucky to have Beauty Gonzales and Jane Oineza as his leading ladies.

“Pareho silang very professional, parehong napakagaling kaya they’ll inspire you to also give your best. And it helps that our director is Dan Villegas, one of the best in the industry today. He really helps bring out the best in each of us.”

“I Got You” is produced by Brightlight Productions for TV5. It started airing last Sunday at 2 PM and RK and co-stars are happy that the feedback about their show is very positive and encouraging so far.
