DOH cautions against possible stampede in Traslacion 2026

THE Department of Health (DOH) cautioned devotees against the danger of a possible stampede during the holding of the ‘Traslacion 2026‘ on January 9, 2026.

The DOH reminded those who will be attending the event to take the necessary precautions particularly in narrow streets.

It also reminded devotees to be aware of the signs of an impending stampede and what to do in case it happens.

Among these signs are the heightening shoving and pushing, failure to lift one’s feet and breathing difficulty.

Once these are felt, the DOH said it would be better to get out of the crowd and seek a more spacious area. In case of failure to get out, one must remain standing and lift his arms.

If one falls or gets off balanced, it is important to protect the head and chest.

It is also advised for one to go with the flow of movements while slowly getting out and transferring to a safer area.

“Kapag dadalo sa Traslacion, alamin ang senyales ng stampede at ano ang dapat gawin kung sakaling nangyari ito para ligtas ang paggunita at pamamanata,” the DOH said.
