Drug peddler from Bulacan, another from CDO arrested

TWO more wanted drugs offenders, one of them a 62-year old vendor from Bulacan were hauled to jail by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) on Tuesday in line with their ongoing effort to account for the country’s most wanted drug personalities, PNP-DEG director, Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee announced yesterday.

In a report to PNP chief, General Debold M. Sinas, Lee identified the arrested suspects as Edgardo Ajeto alias ‘Renato Ajeto/Boy Galante,’ a 62-year old resident of Pabahay 2000 in Muzon, San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan and Jojo Payla Lim alias ‘Jolims,’46, a resident of Barangay Ramonal Village, Camaman-an Cagayan de Oro City.

Lee said that Ajeto was arrested by members of the PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 2 under Lieutenant Colonel Nestor B. Cusi on the strength of a warrant of arrest for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by Judge Teodora Gonzales on October 9, 2017.

No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused who was placed under arrest by officers led by Lieutenant Khara Camille Clemente with the assistance of operatives from the Bulacan Police Provincial Office and the Police Regional Office 3.

The suspect is now being held at the Marilao Municipal Police Station.

Lim was arrested past 4 p.m. Tuesday by members of the PNP-DEG SOU 6 led by Lt. Col. Alex dela Cerna with the help of the Police Regional Office 10.

Lee said the suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under RA 9165 issued by Judge Vincent Rosales of the Cagayan de Oro City RTC Branch 23 on May 13 last year.

No bail was also recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused who is now being held at the Cagayan de Oro City Police Station 2 lock-up facility pending his presentation to court.
