Drug pusher killed in Pampanga shootout

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A suspected drug peddler died during an anti-illegal drugs operation that turned into a shootout in Mabalacat City, Pampanga on Tuesday night.

Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De leon said operatives of the Mabalacat Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust in Bgy. Atlu Bola against Jhonny Solomon, 39, who is listed in the Data Base of Illegal Drug Personalities, and a resident of Bgy.San Francisco, Mabalacat City.

Upon sensing that he was transacting with lawmen, the suspect immediately drew his cal. 38 revolver and fired at the police officers who retaliated, killing Solomon on the spot.

Lt. Col. Rossell Cejas, Mabalacat City police officer-in-charge, said a cal .38 “paltik” loaded with four live ammo and two fired cartridges, two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an approximate weight of three grams and street value of P20,400 were found in the suspect’s possession.

The marked peso bills and boodle money used in the operation were also recovered.

Meanwhile, two most wanted persons in Pampanga were arrested in separate manhunt operations last January 11. Nabbed were Ronnel Sevilla, 27, of Madapdap Resettlement in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, and Jefferson Ilonggo whi was nabbed in Apalit.
