Drunk mason faces raps for assaulting barangay exec

A 49-YEAR-OLD mason is facing multiple criminal charges for creating trouble while under the influence of liquor and even assaulted responding barangay official who tried to pacify him Sunday evening in Valenzuela city.

Charges for physical injury, resisting arrest, assault upon a person in authority and alarm and scandal were filed against Rafael Arguelles of 75 Cayetano St. Brgy. Karuhatan after he was turned over by barangay officials to Valenzuela Police Station Investigation Unit (SIU).

Earlier at around 10 p.m., barangay security officers Edrew Marcelo and Bienvenido Alinsub, Jr. responded to a reported commotion along Concepcion Compound, Karuhatan where they chanced upon Arguelles shouting and challenging his neighbors to a fist fight while under the influenced of liquor.

When the two tried to pacify Arquelles, the latter punched Marcelo but missed prompting them to arrest the suspect with the assistance of other barangay security officers who also responded to the area and brought him to the barangay hall for proper documentation.

While inside barangay hall, the suspect asked permission to urinate but after his handcuff was removed, he suddenly punched Patrick Doon 22, barangay helper, hitting him on his head.
