DSWD assists 2 wounded soldiers in Northern Mindanao

Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga hands over financial assistance to wounded Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary trooper Joseph Jimenez.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Field Office (FO) in Region X, has provided assistance to two soldiers who were injured during two separate encounters with terrorist groups in Northern Mindanao.

DSWD Field Office X Regional Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga personally handed over the financial assistance to Corporal Riel Galdo of the 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. He was injured during an encounter with terrorist groups in San Rafael, Talakag, Bukidnon on March 20.

Meanwhile, Regional Director Dollaga also provided aid to Joseph Jimenez, a Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary trooper who was wounded during an encounter with terrorists in Dominorog, Talakag, Bukidnon on June 15.

Under the Department’s Memorandum Circular No. 11, S. 2019 or Revised Guidelines on the Implementation of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), uniformed personnel who were killed-in-action or wounded-in-action during military or police operations are qualified to receive cash assistance or other support services.
