Department of Social Welfare and Development‘s (DSWD) Field Office (FO) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on Wednesday night (October 23) assisted 50 families from Consuelo, Santa Marcela in Apayao province who were pre-emptively evacuated as the effects of Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Kristine started to be felt in the region.
DSWD CAR personnel, together with local Philippine National Police (PNP) and barangay officers personally oversaw the distribution of family food packs (FFPs), as well as the handing out of Disaster Assistance Family Access Card (DAFAC) to each recipients.
The DAFAC is a paper-form data sheet, where beneficiaries fill-out basic information such as family members and their address which also keep track of the goods and services received by the families.
As the DSWD CAR carries out relief efforts in the region, the data from DAFAC is set to ensure that the provision of goods and services are equally distributed to the families and individuals in need as STS brings inclement weather.
DSWD Field Office Cagayan extends relief aid to TS Kristine evacuees

In its continuing relief operations for Tropical Storm Kristine, personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Field Office (FO) 2-Cagayan Valley distribute on Thursday (October 24) more than 200 family food packs (FFPs) and 186 non-food items to evacuees in the different parts of the region.
The relief supplies, worth over Php500,000, were given to evacuees in the provinces of Isabela, Cagayan, and Quirino.
This latest relief distribution is part of the FO’s efforts to ensure that affected families are able to meet their food needs and other basic needs while seeking temporary shelter in evacuation centers.
DSWD’s Bicol Field Office brings help to Naga City

Upon the instruction of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, DSWD Field Office 5-Bicol Regional Director Norman Laurio oversees on Thursday (October 24) the relief distribution for ‘Kristine’-affected residents of Naga City.
Naga City suffered the brunt of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine with local officials reporting that thousands of locals are in urgent need for food, clean water, and medicines.
Director Laurio made sure that the FO-5 provided enough food and non-food supplies to ensure that the locals will not go hungry amid the storm.
The DSWD’s Bicol Field Office also continues to coordinate with the local government of Naga City to determine other interventions that the residents may need to help them recover from the effects of the weather disturbance.
