DSWD chief checks on new mechanized packing system at agency’s NROC in Pasay City

Mechanized packing systemDepartment of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian conducts an inspection on Tuesday (June 24) of the new mechanized packing system installed at the agency’s National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay City.

The new packing system, which features three rice vacuum seal application, is part of the Department’s goal to improve its disaster response to ensure a ‘Buong Bansa, Handa’ during calamities.

Another improvement is the barcoding of the family food packs (FFPs) for a more efficient monitoring.

Joining Secretary Gatchalian during the inspection were Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao of the Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) and Special Assistant to the Secretary for Disaster Response Management and Concurrent Officer-In-Charge of the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) Leo Quintilla.
